The data provision agreement to the Migration Department will improve the services quality for individuals
The Migration Department under the Home Office of the Republic of Lithuania and the State Tax Inspectorate under the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Lithuania concluded an agreement on the data provision. The document was signed on May 2 by Evelina Gudzinskaite, Director of the Migration Department under the Home Office of the Republic of Lithuania (hereinafter – the Migration Department), and Edita Janusheni, Head of the State Tax Inspectorate under the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Lithuania (hereinafter – the State Tax Inspectorate).
In accordance with this agreement, the State Tax Inspectorate has pledged to provide the Department of Migration with individual data of individuals and the payer of value added tax. The data needed by the Migration Department to assess whether the activities of a foreigner indicate when a person applies for a temporary residence permit in the Republic of Lithuania in order to determine whether the company performs its activities and whether it is actually declared by a person (legal entity) in the State Tax Inspectorate. Whether this activity is carried out in accordance with the business plan, determine the amount of income received by the company, other circumstances.
Using data from the information system of the State Tax Inspectorate, the Migration Department will reduce the administrative burden of submitting documents regarding the issue of temporary residence permits in the Republic of Lithuania on the basis of labor or other legal activities. This improves the conditions of service for foreigners.
The Migration Department, using data from the State Tax Inspectorate information system, will be able to pre-evaluate a legal entity, without waiting for the required declarations and necessary tax documents, of an alien or legal entity on the basis of which the foreigner applies for a temporary residence permit or visa. Determine how much a legal entity meets the conditions for issuing the requested documents.
The agreement between the Migration Service and the State Tax Inspectorate, which enters into force on the day of its signing, will expand the services of universal service for individuals and significantly improve the quality of services for individuals.
